Taylor Swift Steals the Show as Chiefs Beat Bears 41-10
The Kansas City Chiefs beat the Chicago Bears 41-10 this past Sunday in a game that would’ve been wholly unremarkable if not for a certain guest who was in attendance. Pop megastar Taylor Swift was invited to the game by Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and she watched the game from Kelce’s personal suite with his mom.
The broadcast of the game showed Swift many times to get her reactions to plays throughout the game, and her attendance went viral all over the internet. Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, you name it; on every social media site, there were posts and posts about Swift’s attendance and her rumored relationship with Kelce.
This has united NFL fans and Swift fans, an alliance that I don’t think anyone expected to be happening. Swift fans are attempting to learn more about football so they can keep up with the play of Kelce, and NFL/ Chiefs fans are trying to learn more about Swift and her music.
Moving onto the game, this one was a very lopsided affair. For Swifties who don’t usually tune into the NFL on Sunday but watched the Chiefs play the Bears, they got to watch one of the best teams in the NFL play one of the worst. The Chiefs are the defending Super Bowl champions and look poised to be a contender to repeat, while the Bears are now 0-3 and haven’t won a game since October 24th, 2022.
Chiefs star quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 272 yards and three touchdowns, running back Isiah Pacheco rushed for 62 yards and a touchdown, and fellow running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire rushed for 55 yards and a touchdown. Kelce had seven receptions for 69 yards, and with the Chiefs up 34-0 in the third quarter, Kelce caught a three-yard touchdown pass from Mahomes, which sent Swift and the rest of the Chiefs crowd into a celebration.
For the Bears, quarterback Justin Fields threw for 99 yards, one touchdown, and one interception, along with rushing for 47 yards. DJ Moore caught three passes for 41 yards and scored the Bears one touchdown on a pass from Fields. This was the Bears’ 13th loss in a row, the longest in their franchise’s history. Next week, however, they take on another one of the worst teams in the league, the 0-3 Denver Broncos, who just lost 70-20 to the Miami Dolphins.
For Kelce, Mahomes and the Chiefs, they have gotten back on track after their Week 1 loss to the Lions, winning their past two games to improve to 2-1. As of now, the Chiefs are undefeated with Swift in attendance, and it remains to be seen if she will continue to attend Chiefs games and if the Chiefs will continue their winning ways. Next week, they will travel to New Jersey to take on the New York Jets on Monday Night Football, and in week five, they will go to Minnesota to play the Minnesota Vikings.
