Who the Flub is in the Dub?

0

Meet the Dub. We are a feminist oriented theme house on campus and provide students with sexual health resources, queer centered events, and events that support survivors of sexual assault. We are super passionate about what we do and would love if you came to see us at the club fair, swung by one of our many events, or stopped by to chat in our humble abode located at 3 University Ave! Here are some fun facts about the members of our house in case you need to hunt one of us down for some lube, condoms (internal and external), dental dams, Plan B, or just a new friend!

Slob (she/they) – Whipping their Honda Civic all the way from Rochester, NY, Slobby is one of our seniors majoring in intersectional health with a minor in african studies. You can find Slob bartending at the Hoot, running a chemistry lab, or sipping on a caffeinated beverage in the Winston room. Slobiana enjoys learning new instruments, playing with kittens, and spending time with the goons.

Gwenny (she/her) – Mommy… sorry… mommy? Gweny is from Stow, MA and is easily one of our sweetest dubbers who’s always down to help a friend. Our curly queen loves the color blue, outdoor adventures, and cooking in our little kitchen. Gwenny is another one of our dear seniors and is majoring global public and environmental health. We love you Gwenny!!!!

Mil (they/them) – Contrary to popular belief, this is not Chad Michael Murray. Mil Burns is one of our lovely seniors majoring in biology and minoring in statistics. They are our household ADK native, hailing from the big city of Tupper Lake. These days you can find Mil pickling, bopping around campus on their pink Schwinn, or crunching some numbers.

Emily C (she/her) – Emily C, THE woman in stem is one of our lovely seniors majoring in biology with minors in public health and european studies. We are so happy to have Emily C. back after her little eat, pray, love moment while studying abroad in Denmark last spring. On campus, you can find Emily working as a biology teaching assistant, studying for anatomy and physiology, and doing other bad ass shit.

Sara (she/her) – Sara, our croc queen. Sara is one of our seniors majoring in global studies and is from Denmark! You can spot her on campus with her big green bag and when the weather gets colder… an amazing sweat suit. A fun fact about Sara is that she is learning how to drive (thank you teacher Gwen)! Sara keeps us laughing, learning, and most importantly, pole dancing.

Izzy Dub-Dub (she/her) – We are so lucky to have our Isabella with us this semester! Izzy Dub Dub is another one of our seniors majoring in creative writing, minoring in public health and comes from the beautiful Mount Desert Island. When she’s not busting a move with the dance team or at Java, Iz is probably giving someone an epic haircut, pursuing business ventures, or scheduling our next mixer (she’s our social chair!). We love, love, love our dancing queen<3

Mary (she/her) – Our current resident of the porch room and designated Diet Coke connoisseur. Mary is a junior English major but will always have a soft spot in the hearts of the class of 2023. Say hi to Mary while she’s on one of her many hot girl walks or while she’s ambushing the java barricade, she won’t bite (we hope)!

Cara (they/them) – Cara is one of our junior housemates hailing from Rochester, New York. Cara is a neuroscience major and is minoring in gender and sexuality and outdoor studies. Things they love include playing the saxophone, wearing bandanas, cooking, and behaving like an eight-year-old boy in a theme park.

Gabby (they/them) – Gabby is one of our newbs this semester hailing from the most electric city in the land – Buffalo, NY. Gabby is a junior and is another one of our household global studies majors. They spent the summer working at a plant nursery and playing with their new kitten. We are so excited to have them in our house this semester, even though we stuck them in the closet bedroom!

Nach (they/them) – Nach is one of our fabulous newbies! Coming all the way from Argentina, Nach is a sophomore majoring in anthropology and minoring in gender and sexuality studies. They bring so much knowledge to our house, and they are our go to for all things queer theory. A fun fact about Nach is that they can read tarot cards!

Grace (she/her) – We are so excited to also have Grace as one of our newbs this semester! Grace is another one of our sophomores and is from Maine. Grace is majoring in anthropology and is minoring in art history, an academic weapon if you will. She brings such a good energy to our house and can always make us laugh! Gabby and Grace are roommates in our beloved closet bedroom!
