Pete and Kanye’s Public Fight Over Kim

0

We’ve known that Kanye West is – how should I put this – very outspoken. He said he was going to run for president and he actually filed his candidacy. I think everyone knows that he has expressed his dislike for his niece Stormi on Twitter. He is on a lot of lists titled, “Celebrities I don’t like,” specifically Taylor Swift’s. And probably every one of our parents’ lists too. So it really is not surprising that his name is trending right now. This time it’s different. He has directed his aggression towards his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, whom he used to adore, and her boyfriend Pete Davidson. It only seemed like a matter of time until Kanye would be raging on Twitter, but did anyone expect him to direct it towards Kim too? Did we expect Kanye to be banned from singing at the Grammys?

A big turning point for Kanye’s reputation (wink wink) was when he interrupted Taylor Swift’s acceptance speech. His reason for doing so was because he said God had led him there. Seven years later, Kanye mentions Taylor in his song “Famous,” stating that his interruption at the award ceremony is the reason for her success. Since then, the feud has stalled on the internet. Now though, his attention has turned to the Saturday Night Live star.

2020 was a very interesting year to say the least. Not only is that when COVID-19 caused us to go home for “two weeks” in mid-March, but also Kanye West ran for president. Although it was pretty obvious that he was not going to win, he got about 60,000 votes. Out of the 160,000,000 people that voted, he received a small fraction. That is 0.000375% of the votes. Yes, I did the math. This is all to say that it is not surprising that he is the center of another social media feud. I am a little surprised, however, that his actions are directed towards his family.

Kanye West claimed that Pete Davidson antagonized him with a text. A text that allegedly reads, “In bed with your wife” and a picture of him in bed. What else would you expect from a comedian who works on SNL? A good joke (maybe it wasn’t a joke), but it can be offensive. Especially to someone who has already expressed his hatred for the situation and is making negative comments towards his own children. Since then, Instagram has temporarily banned Kanye West from posting on the platform. Twitter has taken some of his tweets down for hate speech. People are starting to worry for Kim and her children’s safety, as well as Pete’s. All I can say is, who knows what will happen next in this “duel”.
