Dana Dining Hall to Serve Alcoholic Beverages this Cumming Semester

0

Dana Dining Hall is making monumental moves in their beverage and service offerings for this upcoming fall semester. Believe it or not, due to the fact that students are relentless in sneaking in their own alcoholic beverages and are constantly getting caught red-handed, the staff and faculty have declared that they are warming up to the idea of a cold brew with dinner.

Cocktails will be served nightly with an array of different beer and wine selections. At the counter you will provide your school and regular ID. The school ID will be scanned and approved with your ACTUAL age. Fake IDs are unacceptable. Getting caught trying to beat the system will result in immediate suspension, possible expulsion. The dana staff warns you to think twice before handing over an alternative, faulty form of identification.

Controversy has broken out due to the placement of the bar and which counter will have to be eliminated in order for it to fit in the already established food and beverage area. Stats show that the pizza bar is the least visited area in the food selection process for staff and students; however, SLU pizza lovers are appalled by this and are demanding for the salad bar to be downsized instead.

The decision has not yet been made, but students are anxious about the final announcement and are excited to welcome the drinks into Dana Dining Hall. Some staff, and a small portion of students, are concerned about how this will increase alcohol consumption on campus and rowdiness within daily and night life.

Beer pong and other drinking games will be forbidden in the Dana dining area; however, the expectations of SLU students to listen and follow the guidelines seems relatively slim. Students over the age of 21 will lose their privileges permanently if the expectations of the staff aren’t met and respected. No gathering and/or party type events will be held in the dining hall and tables will not be reserved for any reason.

The flow of hungry students, faculty, and staff will remain as usual. Larger holidays will result in the addition of champagne to the list of regular beverages. Bringing your own reusable cup will be encouraged due to the negative impact that plastic has on our earth, so cheers to champagne in a mug and enjoy this new addition to Dana Dining Hall.
