99 Neighbors and Golden Boy Music Light Up the Java Barn

0

The two-act special featuring Golden Boy Music and 99 Neighbors was not a show to be missed. I have to believe that this was one of our most popular shows of the semester so far. The opening act of Golden Boy Music took the stage and kept the venue riled up from the start. Golden Boy is an independent rap duo comprised of Danny Diamonds and Chase Murphy. Golden Boy is based out of the greater Boston area. If you want to check out some more of their work you can find them on Soundcloud and Facebook under Golden Boy Music Group. 99 Neighbors were the talk of the night for sure. 99 Neighbors is a rap duo that consists of Sam Paulino and Hanknative.

The group formed in Burlington, Vermont, last year and has racked up an impressive sheet since their last visit to Canton. The group managed to sell out a show at Higher Ground this past fall, and they played an impressive set at Otis Mountain Music Festival. This was their second time as a group performing under the Java Barn lights, and they rose to the occasion. This duo kept the place alive through the entirety of their set, playing some tracks off of the pair’s two independent albums and a few of the group’s singles.

They ended their set with a powerful performance of Hank’s new track “Back Up,” which left the Barn shaking. I caught up with Hanknative after the show and here’s what he had to say: “Traveling to Saint Lawrence’s Java Barn was one of the best experiences 99 has had so far. Couldn’t be more grateful to have the opportunity to rock with everyone there.” It was a treat to have this group back at the venue, and we look forward to sharing the next show with you guys!
